Cushing Regional Hospital Diabetes Education Center has a mission for the continued improvement in health care of Cushing and the surrounding areas. A team of qualified educators will work together with your physician and other healthcare providers to coordinate your individualized diabetes care. The Cushing Diabetes Education Program has a hands-on approach to diabetes care that includes small groups, personalized feed back, discussions and demonstrations with registered dietitian and nursing staff.

• Diabetes education is offered at your community hospital
• Simple referral process:
  • Ask your physician to fax a referral to the Cushing Regional Hospital Diabetes Education Center 918-225-8244.
  • After we receive your physician’s referral, then our staff will call you to schedule classes.
  • Please check with your insurance company to verify if Diabetes Self-Management Training is a covered benefit.
• Many insurance plans and Medicare cover these services for their members
• Classes are available on a fee-for-service basis. These small classes include one-on-one consultations with a registered dietitian specializing in meal planning and a registered nurse who specializes in diabetes management help you establish an individualized self-management plan.

Our diabetes education classes are taught by a team of dietitians, registered nurses, physical therapists and pedorthists to address all aspects of living with diabetes. The classes are recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting standards of care for living with diabetes.
